Downloading and Installing EaSecure

     

EaSecure clients can be downloaded from http://www.easecure.com/download.html. The are two types of EaSecure clients:

1) Plug-ins. An EaSecure plug-in is seamlessly integrated into your email program. Only a button and a few menu items are added to your email program for carrying out EaSecure related functions. The following plug-ins are currently available:

2) Standalone client. A standalone client is an application that is independent of your email program, for handling EaSecure messages. There are two versions of standalone clients available:

All standalone clients requires Internet Explorer 6.

Plug-ins for different email programs and one standalone client can all be installed on the same computer without interference. For example, if you use Outlook 2003, Outlook Express 6, and Eudora (which does not have a plug-in) on a Windows XP machine, you may install the Outlook plug-in, the Outlook Express plug-in, and either the standalone client for Windows XP and higher or the standalone client for Windows 98 and higher but not both.

To install an EaSecure client:

1) Double click the installation file you have downloaded to run it (or if your web browser asks you whether you want to run the downloaded program, answer "Run").

2) Read the "License and Services Agreement for EaSecure(tm) Service." If you agree, click and then click .

3) Select the installation folder and whether you want the installed EaSecure client to be used by yourself only or everyone who uses the computer, and the click .

4) When the installation finishes, click . Please note: If you have installed a plug-in for your email program, the EaSecure functions will be available the next time you start your email program.

To uninstall (remove) an EaSecure client:

1) Open Control Panel and select "Add or Remove Programs"

2) Select the program you want to uninstall (EaSecure for Microsoft Outlook, EaSecure for Outlook Express, or EaSecure Standalone Client) and click the "Remove" button.

3) Answer "Yes" to confirm that you are sure you want to remove the program.

Please note: Your keys will still be stored on the computer and won't be removed when you uninstall EaSecure client(s). If you want to remove the keys, you need to delete the keys first before uninstalling EaSecure clients.
