Open or Save Attachments

     

If you use a plug-in:

If the EaSecure message you have opened has attachments, you can open or save the attachments in exactly the same way you open or save attachments from an ordinary email.

If you use the standalone client:

If the EaSecure message you have opened has attachments, these attachments will be shown in a field labeled "Attach:" as shown below:

To open an attachment, double-click the attachment or single-click the attachment and then select "Open Attachment" under the "Attach" menu. If the attachment file type has an associated program, the attachment will be saved into the temporary directory and opened by the associated program.

To save an attachment to a different file name or location, single-click the attachment and then select "Save Attachment As..." under the "Attach" menu. A "Save Attachment As" dialog box will popup to allow you to browse for the folder and specify the file name to be saved as.

To save multiple attachments into a folder, select "Save Attachments" under the "Attach" menu. A "Save Attachments" dialog box will popup to allow you to select the attachments to be saved and specify the folder you want the attachments to be saved into. You cannot change the attachment file names if you save the attachments this way.

The "Open Attachment", "Save Attachment As...", and "Save Attachments" menu items are also available by right-clicking the "Attach:" field.

The ".eas" attachment

The encrypted EaSecure message is stored in the ".eas" attachment. You can save this ".eas" attachment into a file and open it later using the standalone client. This allows you to save important EaSecure messages that you intend to keep for a long time.

To open an ".eas" file using the standalone client:

(1) Double click the ".eas" file or click the button to find the ".eas" file and click .
(2) Enter your own password and click . The decrypted message will be shown in the standalone client.
